Uobei Conveyor Belt Sushi in Shibuya, Tokyo - Review

The Uobei Conveyor Belt Sushi Restaurant in Shibuya city in Tokyo is a popular sushi place walking distance from Shibuya crossing where you can buy some good quality sushi using ipads provided and the cool thing about the place is that the sushi is delivered on a conveyor belt and it’s pretty quick too. The kitchen is under the Uobei sign (photo below).

There are several rows of seating areas and each seat is separated but we removed the separators to make it our own area. The kids loved ordering from the ipad, we weren’t familiar with some things but the tablet has an English option so we ordered away! I ordered the summer special which had a range of different sushi which was very interesting. I also ordered a ginger ale and plain udon. Hubby had a draft beer with a noodle soup with egg and meat. There are hot water taps available at each booth with matcha tea for you to make a tea.

Kids ordered a range of their usual sushi along with miso soup, cooked chicken, fruit and deserts. All fresh and tasty.

We really enjoyed Uobei in Shibuya, it was quick, tasty and just the thing we wanted to experience. The experience was self funded.

Our tips:

  • Uobei is located at Japan, 〒150-0043 Tokyo, Shibuya City, Dogenzaka, 2 Chome−29−11, Central Bldg. 6, 1階

  • Check Google for opening hours but generally 11am to 11pm or 10:30am to 11pm weekends.

  • There is one large toilet inside the restaurant on the left just before you sit down at the booths.
