Life-sized LEGO Dragon build in Haymarket to welcome the Year of the Dragon 2024


This Lunar New Year, the LEGO Group is bringing the celebration to roaring heights with a life-sized dragon build in Sydney.

The build will arrive on the corner of Harbour and Hay Street (Haymarket) from Friday 16th to Sunday 18th February to celebrate Sydney’s Lunar New Year festivities.

Create endless play moments for the whole family and make warm, endearing memories that last forever!

Join In a Fiery Challenge

Sydney-siders can celebrate the festivities as a family and unleash their inner builders with an awe-inspiring challenge: to embark on a collective, monumental journey to build the longest LEGO dragon in Australia! This roar-some sculpture needs your help to complete its colourful scale in Darling Square, Sydney.

Design your individual ‘dragon scale’, artfully assemble your bricks to create a magnificent creature, symbolising strength, unity, creativity, while embarking on the shared joy of building. Add your dragon design to the LEGO build and help complete the longest LEGO dragon!

To encourage widespread participation in this occasion, everyone is welcome to build their own LEGO dragon scale at home using any LEGO bricks and upload their creations to social media or LEGO LIFE using #LEGOLongestDragon. Your masterpieces will be showcased for all to admire on LEGO.com, immortalising your contribution to LEGO history!
