MyFirstGym Frenchs Forest - Sydney - Review

Last week, we headed to MyFirstGym in Frenchs Forest to try out their new venue and Dingo Pups class.

This new centre which opened in late July, will let each child go on their own MyFirstGym Development Journey. The journey is split in three age specific groups - School Ready, Sports Ready and Performance Ready. School Ready encourages Foundational Movement Skills, Sports Ready has Foundational Sporting Skills and Performance Ready has Fun, Group Interval Training. Special electives include Playgroup, Yoga, Dance, Gymnastics, Cheer, NinjaWarrior, FitClub, Sports, Parkour and Martial Arts.

Each room at the centre is multi-functional with the preschool gymnastics class which can be joined together with the free-play area in the afternoon for after school programs. There’s also the sports ready room for school age programs as well as a parents retreat room for parents to enjoy a screen guided pilates or yoga exercise while little ones enjoy their class. The centre also offers school holiday camps 12-3pm specific days during the holidays as well as their usual schedules, drop-ins as well as date nights where parents can drop off the kids for some fun while parents enjoy a kid-free evening.

Before our Dingo Pups class, we were invited to play in the free-play arena next to the classroom. The free-play arena is available for students to have a play before and after the class.

After a bit of free-play, we were ready for our Dingo Pups class. The class combines early gymnastics, bootcamp and ninja warrior exercises as well as language development games. We started the class with some easy stretches and number matching before doing the circuit in place. Each exercise on the circuit promotes coordination, strength and teamwork skills.

It was then time for kids to do the circuit course. After some instructions, kids were very excited to take part in the circuit, follow their team mate and do the different exercises.

They were then invited to take part in a letter recognition exercise, some more training and end of class stretches.

Little Mister really enjoyed the Dingo Pups class and I was impressed how well he followed the instructor’ guidance. He really enjoyed the free-play before and after the class as well as some rock climbing and a play in the extra free-play area. There’s lots to do at MyFirstGym Frenchs Forest and I really enjoyed the calm atmosphere which helped little Mister focus in his class. I can't wait to introduce little Miss to some new classes as well as encourages little Mister to take part in more Dingo Pups classes.
