Urimbirra Wildlife Park - Adelaide - Review

Urimbirra Wildlife Park is one little gem we found when looking at things to do around Goolwa, Port Elliott and Victor Harbor when visiting family these last school holidays. I read fabulous reviews online with people loving this local wildlife park so I couldn't wait for us to check it out.

Urimbirra Wildlife Park is located in Hindmarsh Valley just 5 minutes from Victor Harbor. The Park has a range of Australian animals kids will love. Visitors can pat and feed kangaroos, pat a koala, feed an emu, watch a professional snake handler, see reptiles and more.

As soon as we arrived and purchased kangaroo feed at the counter and grabbed a map, we headed straight outside and the kids 'jumped' on the first kangaroo they saw.

As you enter the wildlife park, you will see wild birds such as black cockatoos, owls and a cassowary and see lorikeets and other birds in the walk through aviary. There are also some salt and fresh water crocodiles and reptiles to checkout, emus as well as farm animals such as rabbits and guinea pigs and sheep before venturing around to see the rest of the Australian animals.

The highlight of Urimbirra Wildlife Park is by far the open range area where the kids met various wallabies and kangaroos. Even little baby joeys in their pouches - so cute! The kids loved chatting to them and feeding them. There was a small moment where a few kangaroos were startled which scared the kids a little but other than it was a very pleasant experience and they spent a lot of time with them.

We managed to catch one of the Koalas Feeding session, there are daily sessions at 11am, 2pm and 4pm as well as a Snake Handling session at 4pm both near the Koala Enclosure. After an intro from the Koala keeper, visitors were invited to pat and take a pic with a koala.

We continued exploring and saw dingos, wombats, more birds, reptiles and more Kangaroo Island Kangaroos and Eastern Grey Kangaroos. Little Miss fell in love with one of the baby kangaroos and wanted to take him home ha! We had a wonderful time and highly recommend a visit at Urimbirra Wildlife Park!
