Family Fiesta at Monash University Performing Arts Centres

Family Fiesta is Monash University Performing Arts Centres’ annual takeover of children’s live and participatory art and performance - all at very low ticket prices or free - from 3 - 6 July.  This year sees a stellar line up of artists and scientists collaborating on theatre, music and art that will take 0-12 year olds and their families to interplanetary worlds on a mission of space discovery –  All underpinned by accurate science. 

The mainstage show Little Blue Dot is commissioned by MPAC and created by Lemony S Puppet Theatre with Monash University’s School of Physics and Astronomy. Comedian Dilruk Jayasinha hosts cosmic concert, The Planets and Other Space Music. Special guest Scienceworks (Museums Victoria) is bringing a chunk of real meteorite, for kids to wrap their hands around, and presenting two lunar inspired experiences Lunar Station and Moon MovesInteractive art installations Space Play and Star Weavers will fill the foyers. Pianist and composer Nat Bartsch plays her new album for pre-schoolers in the Sound Gallery, Forever, and No Time At All.  There’s demonstrations of real Lunar and Mars rovers at the festival site, presented by space engineering team Monash Nova Rover.  Families can experience this fantastic program and more at the Ian Potter Centre of Performing Arts.
